  • Submit Prayer Requests for Staff Prayer Meeting July 5

    Each Tuesday at their staff meeting, the staff at FaithWestwood prays over prayer requests they receive throughout the week. On the first Tuesday of every month, we highlight the significance of this weekly meeting and give it a special name -- a Service of Hope & Healing.

    To submit a prayer request for the staff Service of Hope & Healing on July 5:

    • Email your prayer request to prayers@faithwestwood.com OR
    • Text or call Vikki O'Hara at 402-650-9489 (be sure to include your name in text and voicemail messages)

    With any prayer request, please indicate if you would like it to remain confidential (not shared on the weekly churchwide prayer list).

    Prayer requests for this special service must be received by
    12:00 p.m., Monday, July 4.

    Tai Chi for Balance

    Improve physical health // Connect with others // Gain Confidence

    When: Mondays & Thursdays,  11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    Where: FaithWestwood UMC, 4814 Oaks Lane, Omaha, NE -- west entrance by large wooden cross

    Instructor: Paula Allen, experienced and certified Tai Chi instructor

    Cost: $3.00 per drop-in session (no charge on first day for new attendees)

  • Unique serving opportunity!

    The FaithWorks Pantry Committee is looking for a volunteer to serve as a general contractor for the Pantry's upcoming remodeling.

    The project includes tearing out some walls and enlarging the FaithWorks Pantry space by 40%. This person will help with things like lining up subcontractors and volunteers, getting city permits, heading up demolition work, getting estimates, and other miscellaneous construction-related work.

  • Serve with the local missions team

    The Local Missions Team at FaithWestwood has established a new partnership with Restoring Dignitya multifaceted nonprofit ministry in Omaha that assists refugee families settling in the Omaha area as well as anyone who is down and out. 

    Part of this ministry is the collection and storage of donated furniture and household items. Right now, the Local Missions Team is assembling a team of:

    • volunteers with pickups or trailers who would agree to help our congregation move their donated furniture to Restoring Dignity's warehouse at 108th & J Streets, and
    • volunteers to help load and unload donated furniture and household items

    When the need arises, the volunteers will be contacted by a Local Missions Team member to coordinate pickup and unloading.

  • Prayer Shawls, Blankets, and Baby afghans

    Our Blanketed with Prayer team of knitters, crocheters, and fleece tie-ers creates warm, handmade prayer shawls and blankets for anyone who needs a little comfort during a hospital stay or other challenging time. The team also creates baby afghans for new arrivals too.

    And these blankets are all FREE for anyone in the congregation to pick up and give to someone and share the love of God. Each blanket comes prepackaged in a gift bag with tissue and a note from FaithWestwood. Simply grab a blanket from the shelves in the foyer on Sunday morning, or stop by the west entrance during office hours, M-F 8:00 - 3:30
