Vikki O'Hara

Director of Caring Ministries

My Role at FaithWestwood

I coordinate and provide pastoral care to our congregation including hospital visitation, short-term counseling and counseling referrals, grief ministry and support groups, funeral coordination and officiating, and prayer ministry including our Service of Hope and Healing. I also provide support to our care ministry teams including Blanketed with Prayer, CareMATers, FaithSent card ministry, Health Ministry and Parish Nurses, and others.

My Background in Faith

I grew up in the Episcopal church and was deeply impacted by the clergy there during my high school years. At that time, I felt a strong call to ministry. After working in senior management roles and on the staff of a US Congressman, I returned to school to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies at Villanova University. I attended seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree from the University of the South. I also completed a fellowship in Clinical Medical Ethics followed by a residency in hospital chaplaincy. Later, I served as Spiritual Care and Supportive Care Coordinator and Manager of Mission Services at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. I joined the staff at FaithWestwood in 2007.

Why I Love Our Church

I love the caring spirit of our congregation ‑ from welcoming newcomers to caring for one another throughout the ups and downs of life’s journey. I have never known a congregation more willing to care for and serve others ‑ in our church family, our community and beyond.

A Bit About Me

My passion is helping people discover how God is calling them to use their gifts to serve others. I'm blessed to live with my six dogs on an acreage in Iowa and enjoy flower gardening and volunteering with my therapy dogs.
